PBL boss calls for Net to be fixed – Wireless & BroadBand – Connectivity

Here we go again; big media is using the Internet as a sewer to flush to us programs that belong on TV. Packer is complaining, but he sure ain't paying. Why should we pay corporate welfare to one of the country's richest men so he can put bad TV on an otherwise good medium? The web is about links and it is open access. Repeat after me 67 times James baby…the web is about links and it is open access (James is embarrasing). What do others reckon?

THE executive chairman of Publishing & Broadcasting Ltd, James Packer, has labelled Australia's internet speeds embarrassing, criticised Telstra's broadband pricing plans and download restrictions, and called on the Federal Government and regulators to address the issues quickly. Addressing delegates at the annual ninemsn Digital Marketing Summit in Sydney yesterday, Mr Packer said Australian media companies urgently needed faster broadband speeds to meet surging demand for video downloads of news and entertainment, including current episodes of TV shows.
